The Battlefield 3 expansion "Back to Karkand" was released for the Playstation 3 on December 6th and for the Xbox 360 & PC on December 12th. These dates were earlier than EA anticipated and had announced. The expansion includes a number of new maps, vehicles, weapons, a new game mode (Conquest Assault), and an Assignments feature. Battlefield 3's first DLC is free for users who pre-ordered their limited edition copy of Battlefield 3.
